I have faith in Sonia Gandhi's leadership: Azharuddin

Jaipur, Mar 21 : As the party is yet to decide on his candidature from Rajasthan or Uttar Pradesh, former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has said he will contest from anywhere the party suggests.

"I have faith in Sonia Gandhi's leadership and will be willing to contest from whichever seat she suggests," he told reporters on Friday. Azharuddin met Food and Civil Supplies Minister Babu Lal Nagar, Medical and Health Minister Amaduddin Ahmed Khan and former MLA Mahir Azad.Sources said that he might contest parliamentary polls from Tonk-Sawaimadhopur seat in Rajasthan.

On asking about the visit, Azharuddin said he has family terms with the ministers and it was a non-political meeting. The Uttar Pradesh Congress had on Friday said the former cricketer who recently joined the partymight be fielded from Meerut or Moradabad seat in the coming general elections.
